Our Rushall Farm Adventure By Foundation Class
Our very first school trip was on a cold wet day to Rushall Farm. We were excited to get onto the coach with our trip buddies, and to watch the countryside go by as Wendy our driver took us through the narrow lanes to the farm.
We all got onto a big trailer and it was a very bumpy ride as the tractor towed us down to the farm where we got to feed the chickens – although lots of them were hiding from the rain in the hen house!
We had lots of fun learning about how bees tell each other where the best flowers are, and had a go at grinding corn to make flour.
The trip was a great start to our Farm and Food topic and we have built on this experience to learn more about where our food comes from and what makes a balanced and healthy diet.
