PSHE and RSE
VisionAt Charvil Piggott Primary School, we want all children to grow up healthy, happy, safe and able to navigate their way through the challenges of life in modern Britain. This includes helping them to deal with critical issues they face every day such as friendships, emotional well-being and change and giving them a solid foundation for whatever challenging opportunities lie ahead. IntentOur PSHE teaching is designed to equip our students with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their individual well-being, relationships, and what it means to live in the wider world. Our curriculum builds on the learning our pupils experience each year from foundation to primary and on to secondary level as well as the input of parental guidance. The healthiness and happiness of our pupils is a main priority and our PSHE curriculum complements the work of inclusion leads, charity and fundraising events, assemblies and many other school-led well-being initiatives. Implementation |
We have a whole school approach to Personal, Social and Health Education (including Relationships and Sex Education). We follow the Jigsaw scheme of work which combines PSHE (including RSE), emotional literacy, mindfulness, social skills and spiritual development.
Jigsaw is designed as a whole school approach, with all year groups working on the same theme (Puzzle) at the same time. Jigsaw aims to help children know and value who they really are and how they relate to other people in this ever-changing world. All lessons are delivered in an age- and stage-appropriate way so that they meet children’s needs.
