Out of the 40,000 entries that Young Writers received nationally, both Prayrit and Austin had their stories selected for publication. Well done to both children!
If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book, it is being published on the 30th November and is called Crazy Creatures - Southern Legends. We will be entering further Young Writers' competitions over the course of the year so watch this space!

To support this terms ‘Chocolate’ topic our Year 2 children had a super ‘Chocolate Day’ on Wednesday 1st March.
The day started with the children listening to Michael Rosen’s poem ‘I love chocolate cake’ with each child melting a chocolate button in their hands.
The children then had great fun taking part in a workshop run by Rosie’s Chocolate Factory, making a chocolate bar and lollipop and decorated with a variety of sweets.
The day was completed by the children watching the original version of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate factory’.
The following day the children recounted the whole experience in their independent writing lesson.
Our outdoor wooden classroom, generously donated by the CPSA, has now been completed and it is lovely to see so many children using it throughout the school day.
Bring on that warmer weather, so that it can be utilised even more!
On Thursday the whole of the Foundation class spent a fabulous day at Rushall Farm. The blustery weather of Storm Doris couldn’t put a dampener on their first ever school trip to visit a working farm.
The children were able to hold baby lambs and even saw one being born! They fed Moses and Fizz the donkeys and Camilla the pot-bellied pig, met some calves and sowed barley for this year’s harvest.
The day ended with a bee waggle dance and the chance to taste some delicious honey.
It was a wonderful day!
