Do you know anyone who is interested in Sports Coaching or Football?
Published 06/11/17The Piggott School Sports Coaching Academy are currently recruiting for 2018/19. We have teamed up with The Reading FC Community Trust to develop a unique sports coaching programme, with the aim of developing talented young sports leaders. Whether you are interested in becoming a football coach, physical education teacher, sports manager or a fitness instructor, The Coaching Academy will give you the skills, knowledge and experience to develop your career as a sports leader.
The course combines a series of coaching awards with a level 3 Sports Coaching Dipoma, which is the equivalent of 1–A level. You can combine your study with another A-Level, which can provide a pathway to university and higher education or alternatively you can access apprenticeships or immediate employment opportunities in the sports leadership industry.
If you are in year 11 or know anyone who may be interested in joining our team of young coaches please contact Mr Freeman at freeman@piggottschool.org
Our brochure can be viewed on the school website and our sixth form open evening is on Wednesday 6th December.

Reading and Wokingham Coach Services Update
Published 20/07/17Dear Parents
The school’s finance team have been talking with R&W coaches and have hopefully reached a solution regarding the proposed removal of one of the coach services. Other services are not affected.
R&W are prepared to operate the transport for the winter term and possibly more after if they have 35 minimum paying passengers at £5.00 per day. There will not be any single runs and if children chose not to travel at any time there will be no refunds. The payments will be ten payments of £95.00 per month, first payment to reach their bank by the 1st September.
The route will be slightly amended also:
PIGGOTT X2 Berewood 7:44 Chalfont Way Circle 7:46 Rushey Way / Rosemary Ave 7:47 Beeston Way / Bradmore Way 7:50 Cutbush / Selsey Way 7:51 Littington Close / Chattris Way 7:53 Charshalton Way / Thistleton Way 7:54 Kilnsea Way / Mill Lane 7:57 (Travel via the Bader Way) Colemansmoor Rd / Herald Way 8:04 Crockhamwell Rd 8:06 Woodlands Ave / Bulmershe Pool 8:09 Church Rd / Pitts Lane 8:11 Shepherds Hill Roundabout 8:15 Piggott School 8:25 Piggott School Return Time 15:07 If this is acceptable I would ask you to contact R&W coaches to confirm your intention to travel with them asap and also encourage other parents to do likewise.
